Mark your calendars!!!
- Tuesday June 4. 6:30 p.m. Twin Lakes. Bike/Run Transition
- Thursday June 13. 6:30 p.m. (before monthly membership meeting). Twin Lakes. Track Night.
- Tuesday June 18. Time TBD. Location TBD. Bike Safety with CyclExtreme.
- Tuesday June 25. 6:30 p.m. Stephens Lake Park. Obstacle Course
- Thursday July 11. 7:00 p.m. (before monthly membership meeting.) UltraMax Headquarters. Slip and Slide.
- Tuesday July 16. 6:30 p.m. Bethel Park. Fitness Bingo.
- Saturday July 20. 8:00 a.m. Wilson’s Beach Club. Mighty Max Triathlon. (Separate registration/fee required to participate)
Other activity: Saturday June 15. 8:00 a.m. Albert-Oakland Park and Aquatic Center. IronKids Triathlon.
All CMC Kidz whose parents are a member of CMC, events are free of charge... just one more advantage to be member of CMC! Any child that would like to join CMC Kidz they can get all events for just $10.
Please fill out the application found here and follow the instructions on the application to get it to us prior to your child's participation.

CMC March meeting will be Thursday March 14th 7:30p at Shakespeare's South...We will be in the back room. The Board has an awesome meeting plan for you.... It includes Free Pizza, announcements of some cool races for the 2013 season and some expert training tips. So don't miss out!
15 large pizzas will be ready for you at 7:00p at Shakespeare's South... Meeting will start at 7:30.

December 2012 CMC Meeting - Thursday the 13th at Harpo's |

1st: CMC December meeting will be held THIS Thursday 7:30p at Harpos. For your Christmas gift from CMC the board has purchased gift certificates from: Alpine Shop, Walt's, CylceX and Ultramax Sports to give away a meeting. You must be present to win! For the main presentation we will have a couple speakers giving us ideas on off season workouts and recovery options.
3rd: The CMC Annual Banquet will be held on Saturday January 12th at Peach Tree Banquet Center. I have attached the form to get register for the Banquet. The cost is only $15 which gets you: dinner, 2 drink tickets, prizes and entertainment. Becky will be collecting the forms at meeting.
4th: The December Meeting CMC will be giving to The Rainbow House. Please bring a gift card (of your choice amount and choice of retail store). Sunny will take the cards to Rainbow House to give it to a family in need over the holidays. Tis the Sesaon to give to those in need!
5th: DISCOUNT on CMC Membership... for 1 month only CMC will be offering CMC individual memberships for only $25 and $50 for family memberships. To receive the discount you must download the membership form from the website (NOT active.com) and bring the form to meeting, drop it off at Ultramax Sports, CycleX or mail to: Columbia Multisport Club, 1400 Forum Blvd Suite 38 Box 311, Columbia MO 65203. The discount will end at the next CMC meeting (envelopes must be postmarked by January 3rd).

Life keeps roaring ahead, and so does CMC. While some are settling into the off-season, catching up on neglected tasks and forgotten hobbies, others have kicked it into high gear to extend the season.
Jason Zolecki and his family went out for the Give 'Em the Bird 5k, where he dominated his age group! Way to go, Jason!
The Springfield Bass Pro Fitness Weekend hosted a couple CMCers: Jim McDermott earned a new marathon PR, and Dearld Snider had a great race in the half! Well done, guys!
Girls on the Run is gaining speed in its second year in Columbia. A few CMCers led the way: Jenny Clark 1st overall, Sherry Corwin, and Shawna Victor 5th overall! Speedy role models!
Ultramax took to the streets of Kansas City for the KC15k/7k, and took with them some fast CMCers. In the 15k, Denise Bartels 4th, Jenny Clark 3rd, Becky Hennessy, Carrie Kimber, and Tom May 1st. In the 7k, Kate Kimber 3rd. Fantastic!
Taking to the trail and going long, an intrepid crew went out for the G.O.A.Tz trail ultra with 50k and 21mi options: Jennifer Bennett 50k - 2nd overall female (in her first ultra!), Susan Divine 21mi (her first trail race!), Shawn Goertz 50k (with a HUGE PR!), Karen Hodges 21mi - 1st age group, Andy Pele 8th overall (!), Steve Thompson 21mi - 4th overall, and Matt Widzer 50k. Awesome!
And not to be forgotten, Ironman Florida hosted some hardened vets and a few newbies earning their stripes: Caroline Cue, Bob Grone (his first!), Paul Jelliss, Mackenzie Rickman, and Nancy Yaeger (she crushed her first!). Wooooohoooooo!

Thanks, friends, for the cowbell recognition. Knowing how big a deal cowbell is for CMC, this means a lot. It's been my great pleasure to bring you the kudos reports for the past year and a half, celebrating your achievements and successes both big and small, and sharing smiles through awesome photos. Thanks for letting me be a part of the magic and feel like I'm still home where I belong. Now I pass the torch to my good friend and flag bearer extraordinaire John Stone, who consistently steps up to the challenge in work and triathlon, a phenomenal volunteer and the guy you want standing in your corner. He'll do a great job and carry on the legacy that others long before me started. Thanks, John, for keeping the kudos report alive.

Short kudos report but some BIG milestones!
Staying local in the Prevent 5k/10k, Jenny Clark (1st masters female in the 10k!), Andy Emerson, and Hugh Emerson had a great run on a cool morning. Tony Rigdon was out helping make sure everything ran smoothly. Great race, guys!
Shelly Frazier had a HUGE weightlifting competition in Boston, where she showed 'em all up and walked away with not only a silver medal but three AMERICAN RECORDS and a WORLD RECORD in the benchpress - 155lb benched by all 117lb of Shelly. Holy moly! Way to go, Shelly!
The Marine Corps Marathon is the 4th largest marathon in the country, 9th in the world. The usual mantra is "beat the bridge," which means make it to the bridge at 20mi before the race cutoff, but this year the battle cry was "beat the hurricane!" Running ahead of Sandy were first-timer Jake Simpson and DC transplant Jessica Johnson. Welcome to the marathon club, Jake!
And we missed John Stone in his recent (or not so recent...) move to Florida. Flying his CMC colors in the sunshine state, he rocked his was to a 3rd place AG finish! So that training stuff is good for something! Way to go, John Stone!
Send some good vibes to the group headed down to crush Ironman Florida on Saturday: Caroline Cue, Bob Grone, Mackenzie Rickman, and Nancy Yaeger! Go get 'em!
